Welcome to Saamya Counselling

Saamya (साम्य) (n): Equanimity; a calm and balanced state of mind.

The mind is like a lake - at rest, calm and balanced.

At times, life feels heavy and unsettling because of the stress, traumas, and heavy emotions that are hard to carry alone any longer. These act like rocks, causing ripples in the lake and disrupting the balance. Just like the lake, though, it’s our very nature to seek balance and find equanimity. At Saamya, we offer a safe and supportive space for neurodivergent individuals and those navigating life transitions, depression, anxiety, or the impact of trauma.

You don’t have to go through this alone.

You don’t need to have it all figured out.

You don’t need to know what to say.

You are welcome to begin exactly as you are.

Abuse and trauma can come in many different forms. At times, it is hard to clearly identify each form as they tend to overlap.

Abuse can be physical, emotional and / or psychological. Whereas physical abuse can be seen, it is harder to acknowledge and comprehend others. These experiences are often confusing, shocking and embarrassing. They can have severe short and long-term effects resulting in trauma.
